About this guide

Green Spaces of Fife is a short, practical guide to some of Fife’s best-loved places for an easy walk: town parks, a country park, the Lomond Hills, a woodland den with a waterfall, the rock-carved den at Dunino and stretches of the Fife coast.

More about this guide

Each walk gets its own page with a plain description and the details people usually want before they set off: distance and rough walking time, what the paths are like underfoot (including hills, steps and gates), parking, toilets and cafés, any rules for dogs, and a general accessibility note. Figures come from the official route page wherever one exists, and where something could not be confirmed, the guide says so.

The walks are Balbirnie Park and John Dixon Park in Markinch, Craigtoun Country Park near St Andrews, Dunino Den (with a page on what to see and its history), Beveridge Park in Kirkcaldy, East Lomond, Maspie Den at Falkland, and coast walks at Burntisland and Kinghorn and from Leven and Anstruther to Crail. It finishes with the Scottish Outdoor Access Code basics, safety tips and what to bring.

Opening hours, parking and path conditions change, so check the official sources listed before you go. You are responsible for your own safety outdoors.
