About this guide
Signs, planets, houses and how a birth chart works — explained clearly, with the real history from Babylon to newspaper horoscopes. For people who read theirs for fun, take it seriously, or just want to understand what they’re looking at.
More about this guide
It covers what astrology is and isn’t, its history from Babylon to the Sunday paper, and why the sky has moved since the signs were set. Then it explains the 12 signs, elements and modes, the Sun, Moon and planets, the 12 houses and aspects, and how to read a birth chart step by step, including what is really happening during Mercury retrograde.
It also looks honestly at what scientific tests have found, why horoscopes feel accurate, and how to use astrology for reflection. A birth chart worksheet, a test-it-yourself exercise, a 30-day moon and mood journal and a chapter on scams and costly readings round it off.
